A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you have a hosting with us and you want to activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it will take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain registered in the account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to configure a catch-all mailbox effortlessly even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you’ve set up with your domains in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you reach the decision that you do not want the feature anymore, you can disable it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
