Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the sole TLD planned for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered third-level domains remained online.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to correct the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no special stipulations on who can book a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
